My Idea of Instructional Technology

My definition/concept of Instructional Technology is teaching while utilizing different methods of instruction. E-learning, web based training and our Online Blackboard course are examples of what I feel is Instructional Technology.
I work at a law firm that teaches through new employee orientation which is teacher instructed classroom computer training. They also offer online access to policy understanding and agreement training. I believe both instructions are examples of Instructional Technology.

It is nice to see a persepective different from education. It helps me to stay in touch with "real world" demands.

We learn so much from these discussions about each other's challenges.

When I had to first define instructional technology I only thought about the classroom setting. Now I realize that instructional technology includes not only the classroom but other professions as well. Learning occurs everywhere.

I like what you said - utilizing different methods - this is a good general statement for IDT. Methods (designs) is something I didn't include in my definition. I concentrated on the tech part of it.

I agree with It or not IT, it is really good to get the different perspective of IDT, from people out in the "REAL WORLD".
